EMBODIED NUTRITION
Reclaim your relationship with food and find nourishment beyond the plate.
A holistic, trauma-informed and embodied approach
Embodied Nutrition is a unique framework that bridges science and soul, body and mind.
It’s an integrative, trauma-informed, body-centred approach that encompasses you as a whole - on the physical, emotional, embodied, and spiritual levels.
Embodied nutrition weaves together:
Functional, trauma-informed and evidence-based Nutritional Therapy to explore root causes of symptoms and dis-ease such as digestive, hormonal, adrenal and blood sugar imbalances.
Eating Psychology and Mind-Body Coaching to understand and reframe the thought patterns and stress responses shaping your relationship to food.
Embodiment and somatic work to reconnect to your body through sensation, movement and regulate the nervous system and support release.
Breathwork and energy work to support deeper integration.
This is not a “fix you” space. It’s a come home to yourself space.
At the heart of embodied nutrition is the understanding that healing is not just about addressing or managing physical symptoms. Instead, it is about returning you to wholeness. From the physical to the emotional, the mental to the spiritual, because everything is interconnected.
Body and belonging. Nature and nourishment. Safety and surrender. Rhythm and regulation. Presence and power.
I honour the ways that trauma, whether it be personal, generational, or collective, can shape your relationship with food, digestion, and your sense of safety in your own skin. That’s why this work begins with compassion and pacing, creating a space where your body feels safe enough to soften, to listen, and to trust again.
In embodied nutrition, you will find prescriptive or restrictive eating and exercise plans. Instead, together we find a unique combination of food, embodiment and somatics, mindfulness, breath, body awareness and much more that meets you where you’re at. Not just to manage symptoms, but to help you return to a more honest, intuitive, and empowered relationship with food and your body. Together, we will explore your eating patterns through the lens of nervous system regulation, emotional safety, lived experience, current stressors, and your connection to self.
Food is not the enemy. And your body is not a battlefield. It’s a compass, a guide, and a place you deserve to belong.
You might be experiencing…
Digestive discomfort like bloating, constipation, or gut imbalance.
Hormonal shifts, irregular cycles, or symptoms of burnout and fatigue.
Skin issues, low immunity, or inflammation that won’t seem to settle.
Energy crashes, insomnia, or feeling “wired and tired” all the time.
Ongoing struggles with food, including restriction, bingeing, purging, or chronic dieting.
Emotional eating, food fear, or feeling guilty after meals.
A sense that your body is stuck in survival mode.
Disconnection from your hunger, fullness, or pleasure cues.
Food patterns that don’t shift, no matter how much you “work on them”.
This work isn’t about fixing symptoms in isolation. It’s about understanding the story your body is telling, and creating space for healing on every level.
You might be here because…
You feel anxious, guilty, or confused around food.
You’ve tried everything to “fix” your body and symptoms but nothing seems to work.
You feel numb or disconnected from your body.
You find yourself swinging between control and chaos with eating and exercise regimes.
You’re tired of living in your head and want to come home to your body.
You’ve lost touch with your hunger, fullness, or food pleasure.
You’re navigating recovery after treatment or trying again, differently.
You sense that your symptoms are saying something deeper…and you're ready to listen.
If any of this feels familiar, know that you’re not alone. This work meets you exactly where you are, and walks with you from there.
We often think symptoms are the problem but they’re actually the body’s way of speaking.
Our bodies are always communicating.
Fatigue, digestive and hormone struggles, irregular cycles, binge–restrict patterns, anxiety around food, emotional eating — these are not signs that you are broken. They are signals. Messages from your body, speaking in the only language it knows.
What you’re experiencing may be a response to nutritional imbalance, blood sugar dysregulation, emotional stress, trauma, or the weight of living at war with your own body.
Your body isn’t failing you. It’s protecting you. And beneath the symptoms, it’s asking to be heard.
Embodied Nutrition isn’t a new diet plan; instead, it asks:
What is your body trying to tell you?
What’s underneath the symptoms or behaviours?
How can we meet your body’s needs with compassion, curiosity, and nourishment?
What are the unique ingredients you need to bring you back to wholeness?
Because when we stop fighting the body and start listening, we remember that the body was never against us. It was always just trying to protect us.
Where science meets soul
From a functional nutrition perspective, everything is connected.
So much shapes how the body functions. From the food you eat and how you digest it, to your stress levels, beliefs, past experiences (including trauma), environment, and nervous system state. Food is information that your body uses to heal, repair, and find balance rather than just using it for fuel.
But when the body is under stress, carrying unresolved trauma or in survival mode, that process can get disrupted. Symptoms like fatigue, hormone imbalances, digestive issues, or anxiety aren't random, they are messages, or what we call in nutrition ‘biological feedback’. These symptoms are signals from your body that are asking for attention, care, and deeper support.
Functional nutrition helps us explore those signals with curiosity. It gives us a map to understand what your body needs from a biochemical perspective and beyond to return to a state of resilience and flow.
Through an embodied lens, the way you eat is a reflection of how you relate to your body.
It’s not just about what you eat, but how, why, and when and the deeper patterns that shape those behaviours.
Many of us have learned to disconnect, to numb, restrict, override, or use food to regulate emotion. That doesn’t mean anything is wrong with you. It’s an intelligent adaptation to unmet needs, unprocessed emotions, or traumatic experiences in environments that didn’t feel safe. These behaviours are normal coping mechanisms, but over time, they can pull us further from true nourishment and keep us stuck in cycles of self-protection.
In embodied nutrition, we explore how your nervous system and trauma history affect your relationship with food and the body. When we’re disconnected, we often eat from a place of control or avoidance instead of trust and connection. How we eat and how we feel about eating can reveal the deeper dynamics of our relationship with ourselves.
With emotional awareness, we begin to see that eating is never just about food.
Eating is never just about food. It’s about relationship. Your relationship with nourishment, with safety, with pleasure, and with your own body.
Food is a deeply woven thread of connection, a relationship that begins in the womb and continues to shape us throughout our lives. Eating is also about how we engage with food so we ask, does the food we are eating nourish us or is it reflecting our deeper emotional needs? Are we craving food, or are we craving comfort, connection, control, or care?
Often, the way we eat reflects the parts of us that didn’t feel fully seen or supported and where we carry the weight of feelings, experiences, or unmet needs we’ve learned to silence.
When we explore our connection to self and spirit, we often discover that our relationship with food is a mirror of our inner landscape.
What are we really hungry for? Are we hungry to feel, to be seen, to belong?
Do we trust our hunger. Not just for food, but for life?
Do we allow ourselves to receive pleasure?
Do we believe we are worthy of nourishment?
Have we been taught that our needs are sacred or shameful?
Are we hungry for connection? To ourselves, to others, to the world around us?
These reflections point to the deeper psychological and spiritual layers that shape our behaviours around nourishment and self-worth.
Embodied nutrition holds space for it all.
Because your body isn’t the problem. It’s the path.

They are an invitation to reconnect back to your body and your truth.
Food and symptoms are not the enemy.

I didn’t come to this work through textbooks alone.
I came to it through lived experience.
For over a decade, I struggled with anorexia, bulimia, binge-eating disorder, addictions, anxiety, and depression. Alongside that came over 10 years of hypothalamic amenorrhea and subsequent hormonal disruption, digestive issues, chronic skin problems, and insomnia. I disconnected from my body, ignored its signals, and lived in a loop of control, fear, and depletion.
I tried everything from psychotherapy, CBT, hypnosis, clinical treatment, and even two stints in residential rehab. And while each approach gave some reprieve, the effects were often short-lived. None of them reached the root of what I was carrying. They attempted to treat only the behaviours, but not what lay beneath them - dissociation, trauma, shame, and a nervous system frozen in survival.
It wasn’t until I began to explore the body as an essential part to the healing process and get curious of why I was eating (or not eating), how my body had learned to protect me, and the nourishment that I truly needed, not just physiologically, but emotionally, energetically, and spiritually, that things began to shift.
Slowly, layer by layer, I began to rebuild a relationship with food, with my body, and with myself. Not through control, but through compassion. Not through force, but through listening. And what I found was that healing wasn’t about fixing myself, it was about slowly returning home to who I’d always been underneath all the patterns.
Through years of both academic study and personal trial, I began to rebuild. Through somatics, nourishment, and breath, I learned to regulate my nervous system, heal at the root, and slowly rebuild trust with my body and myself. I began to see my body not as the problem, but the way home.

We begin with a gentle check-in around how you're arriving, what’s been coming up, and what and where you’re wanting support with. Sessions are a blend of conversation, exploration, education, and embodied practices. Depending on your needs, we may look at nutrition, food behaviours, symptom patterns, nervous system responses, or simply what’s present that day.
Practices, support with nutrition, supplement suggestions and much more will be given via email after your session.
Each session is guided by where you are so you can be safely met..
-
This varies. Some people come for short-term guidance while others choose ongoing support as they navigate recovery or life transitions. As behavioural patterns are often deep rooted I often suggest a starting point of 3 sessions. However, you're welcome to start with one and see how it feels.
-
Initial sessions are 75-90 minutes, with follow-ups available for 45-60 minutes.
-
Yes, packages are available.
We will discuss on the phone how many sessions may be best for you, however buying a package of sessions may work out more cost effective.
The time between these sessions will be dependant on your individual needs.
-
Not necessarily. If I feel testing might be helpful to explore deeper imbalances (gut health, hormones, etc.), we’ll discuss it together. I only suggest functional testing when it supports the process rather than as a default.
-
Yes. Before your first session, you'll be asked to complete a health questionnaire so I can get a clear picture of your current symptoms, history, and needs. In some cases, I may also invite you to complete a short food diary. This isn’t about judgment or control, but about bringing awareness to your patterns so we can work from a place of understanding, not assumption.
All information is held in confidence, and you're always welcome to share only what feels right for you.
These forms help me support you with clarity and care so that together we can meet your body and your process with care from the very beginning.
-
Yes. I work with individuals at various stages of eating disorder recovery from early awareness to post-treatment integration. If you’re in active crisis, I may recommend working alongside a wider care team for safety and support.
This is a non-clinical space, but one rooted in lived experience, nervous system awareness, and deep respect for the complexity of this journey.
-
Absolutely. This isn’t just for people with diagnosed EDs. If you're experiencing food anxiety, body disconnection, fatigue, or just want to feel more at peace in your body then this work is for you.
If your relationship with food or body feels confusing, numb, or exhausting then this is a space to explore that, free from labels or pressure.
-
Absolutely. Many of the clients I work with are also receiving support from doctors, therapists, or other practitioners. My approach can be a complementary part of your healing process, and I’m always happy to work collaboratively alongside your care team when appropriate.
That said, I don’t diagnose or treat medical conditions. My role is to support your body’s natural capacity for regulation and healing through nutrition, embodiment, and nervous system support. If there are specific limitations or needs to be aware of, we’ll discuss them together and adapt our work to meet you where you are.
This is your process and I’ll always honour what feels right, safe, and supportive for your unique situation.
-
Yes. Breathwork supports nervous system regulation, emotional processing, and reconnection to the body, all of which are deeply intertwined with food and eating behaviours. If you’re open, we can integrate breath into your sessions when appropriate.
The breath often gives voice to what the body has been holding by gently helping to shift patterns from the inside out.
-
In the right container, absolutely. Breathwork can be a powerful tool for healing disconnection, supporting emotional release, and re-inhabiting the body with safety. I offer breath in a trauma-aware, titrated way that honours your unique process and capacity.
This isn’t about intensity, it’s about building trust with the body, one breath at a time.
